We're looking for an exceptional candidate to fill this position in an exciting dynamic fire focused company.
General duties:
- Able to execute fire risk assessments to local and international standards.
- Familiarity with local (SABS) and international codes/ best practice (e.g. NFPA, BSi, FM Global, etc.)
- Execute fire investigations according to NFPA 921.
- Execute training in the classroom on the bouquet of courses the Association offers.
- Advanced fire prevention skills.
- Comprehends the fundamentals of fire safety engineering, and fire risk engineering.
- Able to draw up a budget aligned to tactical delivery plans, monitor effectiveness and report on variances.
- Plan and manage performance, talent, succession and culture across function/s in order to improve performance.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviour through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organisational values.
- Proactively manage the risk profile in line with area risk specialisation.
- Proactively define and guide risk appetite.
- Integrate business risk information, and compare, analyse and produce reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision-making purposes.
- Develop risk strategy and delivery plans in support of functional strategic objectives in partnership with leadership.
- Establish mutually beneficial relationships with risk stakeholders that support thought leadership, innovative and integrated practice solutions.
- Anticipate and meet the needs of business and commit to continuous development and entrenchment of a fire risk engineering culture.
- Manage risk losses for the overall business
Minimum Qualification - Relevant Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma + Experience in Fire. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant fire risk management, and training function.
Requirements (Skills)
- Degree/ diploma in engineering, or other relevant fire qualification
- 5+ years in management.
- 5+ years in fire risk engineering, conducting risk assessments and fire investigations
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
