This year the FPASA embarked on an ambitious strategy to empower all Fire Departments nationally.
The FPASA trained over 225 firefighters (a minimum of 25 from each of the 9 provinces) in South Africa on Fire Risk Assessment and Prevention Strategies (FRAPS) free of charge.
Eastern Cape FRAPS training
The inspiration for the training derived from a dire need to educate all officials, especially from the less well financed municipalities, who needed the training most. The FPASA would like to thank all stakeholder members (Santam, Old Mutual, Hollard, AIG, MunichRe, Alexander Forbes, and SwissRe) of the FPASA for making this initiative possible. This training will improve the level of work performance of all firefighters trained nationally and in the long term reduce the incidence of fire through improved fire risk management.
