We have been talking a lot about hydrants these past couple of days, unfortunately inspired by the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital fire. Whilst we cannot comment on what went wrong for that specific incident because we have not conducted a fire investigation at those premises, we thought it would be useful to circulate some information on fire flow and hydrants. Please note that extracts of tabulated data are sourced from SANS 10090: Community Protection Against Fire.

Job description
FPASA is seeking for a Technical Specialist to ensure efficient functioning of Operations by defined responsibilities and duties. Primary focus is on course facilitation on online/on-site/off site courses. Fire risk assessments and fire investigations. The role requires an individual who can multi-task, self-manage priorities, work well with a team and travel for work.

Job Duties
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years applicable operational and fire safety experience or similar.
Facilitator, Assessor & Moderator certification will be advantageous.
Minimum NQF Level 4 is a requirement.
Excellent computer skills including MS Office.
